Tuskegee University will travel north to Virginia to take on Hampton in a non-conference battle set for Saturday, September 10, for their second game of the 2022 season.
The Golden Tigers and Pirates will meet for the 30th time in series history, dating back to their first ever meeting in 1907. The two programs last met in 2003, as Hampton took a 53-0 win.
Tuskegee leads the all-time series with a 16-13 edge that included an 11-game win streak from 1964-1974. Hampton currently has a two-game winning streak, with their longest streak in the series being five games.
Hampton will be playing their first season in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) after four years in the Big South Conference (2018-22) and time in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) from 1995-2018.
The matchup will be the first true road game for the Golden Tigers in 2022, as they open the season with a neutral site game in Montgomery, Alabama in the Red Tails Classic.
